Video, brand systems, websites, and lately the software that ties them together. What I am actually good at is landing in a subject I know nothing about and getting useful in it quickly. Right now that subject is battery recycling.

About me

I have spent about eighteen years making things: video, brand systems, websites, and lately the software that ties them together. What I am actually good at is landing in a subject I know nothing about and getting useful in it quickly.

The current one is battery recycling. Green Li-ion takes spent lithium batteries and recovers the materials, and my job is to turn engineering datasheets, patent filings and federal rulemaking into investor decks, press releases, grant applications and market intelligence that people read to the end. When I started I could not have told you what hydrometallurgy was. Now I fact-check brochures against the engineering team’s own datasheets and brief our CEO on what new trade rules mean for a plant in Oklahoma. That gap, between arriving ignorant and being trusted with the technical copy, is the part of the job I am proudest of.

Working across that many mediums gave me a decent map of where each one breaks. I know what a video shoot actually costs in hours, why the developer is pushing back on your design, and which part of the brief the client did not mean literally. That makes me useful in the room between the people who make things and the people who ask for them.

The part that changed recently is that I stopped waiting for tooling to exist. Most of my work now runs through systems I built: publishing pipelines, reporting scripts, local models handling the passes that do not need a human. I also run Studio Queues, a commission management platform for streaming artists, which is where I do the product thinking a marketing job does not usually make room for.

Outside of work I am usually outside. Hiking, camping, and more recently whittling, which is the only hobby I have where nothing needs a firmware update. It resets me, and I come back to the desk better for it.
